MEDICAL & DENTAL OFFICE CLEANING

Nonclinical Janitorial Service with a Clearly Defined Scope

Medical and dental practices need a cleaning scope that distinguishes routine environmental cleaning from clinical responsibilities. Atlas Cleaning Solutions provides nonclinical janitorial service for professional healthcare environments in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Parrish, Bradenton, Manatee County, and Tampa Bay.

We begin with a facility walkthrough and document the rooms, surfaces, frequency, access procedures, products, priorities, and exclusions. Clinical sterilization, sharps handling, regulated medical waste, and specialized biohazard remediation are not included in standard Atlas janitorial service.

Areas Atlas Can Include in a Written Cleaning Scope

Waiting and Reception Areas

Seating exteriors, reception counters, entry glass, accessible horizontal surfaces, high-touch points, trash, and floors according to the agreed scope.

Administrative Offices

Routine dusting of accessible surfaces, trash removal, vacuuming or hard-floor care, and agreed high-touch cleaning without handling records or sensitive materials.

Restrooms

Fixtures, partitions, counters, mirrors, touchpoints, floors, trash, and supply replenishment when facility-provided consumables are included in the scope.

Breakrooms and Staff Areas

Accessible counters, sinks, appliance exteriors, tables, touchpoints, trash, and floors. Dishes, food handling, and interior appliance cleaning require separate agreement.

Nonclinical Treatment-Space Surfaces

Selected environmental surfaces may be included only when the practice defines responsibilities and the work remains within Atlas's documented janitorial scope.

Commercial Floors

Vacuuming, mopping, carpet extraction, VCT maintenance, buffing, and periodic floor projects based on flooring, traffic, condition, and access.

Standard Janitorial Service Does Not Replace Clinical Procedures

Atlas's standard medical and dental office service is designed for environmental cleaning—not clinical sterilization or regulated-waste management. The practice remains responsible for defining clinical protocols and assigning qualified personnel or eligible specialty providers where required.

  • Instrument cleaning, disinfection, or sterilization
  • Handling or disposal of needles, sharps containers, or regulated medical waste
  • Blood or other potentially infectious material cleanup unless separately evaluated and assigned to an eligible provider
  • Cleaning inside clinical equipment or devices
  • Moving patient records, medications, specimens, or protected information
  • Claims of terminal clinical cleaning or specialized infection-control services outside the written scope

If Atlas encounters an item outside the agreed scope, the appropriate response is to stop, isolate the concern when practical, and notify the designated facility contact—not improvise a clinical procedure.

Questions Resolved During the Walkthrough

  • Which rooms and environmental surfaces are included?
  • Which rooms remain under clinical-staff responsibility?
  • What service frequency is needed for waiting rooms, restrooms, offices, and floors?
  • Which products are facility-approved, and who provides them?
  • Where are Safety Data Sheets and written facility procedures kept?
  • How are alarms, keys, doors, patient information, and restricted spaces handled?
  • Who is the authorized contact for scope questions or exceptions?
  • How will regulated waste, sharps, specimens, medications, and clinical equipment be kept outside the janitorial path?

How Service Starts

1. Facility WalkthroughReview room use, traffic, access, flooring, environmental surfaces, and facility-defined responsibilities.
2. Written ScopeDocument tasks, frequencies, products, supply responsibilities, contacts, and explicit exclusions.
3. Access and SchedulingCoordinate service around patient hours, security procedures, restricted areas, and the practice's operating schedule.
4. Direct Follow-UpRoute concerns and changing priorities to the designated facility contact so the scope remains current.

Medical and Dental Office Cleaning FAQ

Does Atlas clean medical and dental offices?

Yes. Atlas provides nonclinical janitorial service for areas such as waiting rooms, reception areas, offices, restrooms, staff spaces, floors, and agreed environmental surfaces.

Does Atlas handle regulated medical waste or sharps?

No. Regulated medical waste and sharps require facility procedures and eligible disposal providers. They are excluded from standard Atlas janitorial service.

Can cleaning be scheduled after patient hours?

Often, yes. The schedule is coordinated around access, alarms, restricted areas, operating hours, and the written facility scope.

Who provides paper products, liners, soap, and cleaning chemicals?

Supply responsibilities are established during the walkthrough and listed in the proposal. Atlas does not assume that every practice uses the same products or purchasing arrangement.

Can Atlas clean exam rooms?

Selected nonclinical environmental surfaces may be considered only when the practice clearly defines responsibilities, approved products, and exclusions. Instruments, clinical equipment interiors, sterilization, sharps, specimens, and regulated waste remain outside standard service.
